The Newly Nearlywed Workshops Explained

Definition of Newly Nearlywed

If you follow my socials, you will have seen me harping on about these Newly Nearlywed Workshops so I figured it was about time I explained myself in full!

Ok, so why have I invented the Newly Nearlywed Workshops?

As a newly nearlywed myself, I found myself scrolling Pinterest with the slightly delusional thoughts of "I can do that, how hard can it be?" and it turns out, pretty hard! Things like calligraphy and floral arrangements look easy enough to nail but when I actually put my mind to it, lets just say the image in my head and reality were not the same! I started looking into workshops I wanted to do but do you know how much these things cost, it all adds up when you look at them all separately and I couldn't find anywhere to do them under 1 roof.

From a wedding vendor's perspective, I was a little bit tired of traditional wedding fairs. They take a lot of time, effort and money and I don't always get to properly show off what I do. After speaking with some vendor friends, it turns out they feel the same so I got to thinking what I could do to change that.

How do these workshops change that then?

This day will mainly be about newly nearlywed's learning new skills from the professionals who are more than happy to be showcasing their skills to you. I see this as a win, win situation because they get to showcase their skills and talent to you whilst you learn skills that will potentially help you to save money on your wedding.

Isn't that just putting wedding vendors out of business though?

No, because not only are they being paid to deliver these workshops (meaning you are supporting small businesses by purchasing a ticket - yay you!), they will be there to answer any questions or guide you in the right direction should you find this is not a skill that comes naturally to you and you want some help after all!

So what is the day going to look like?

The day is going to look blooming fabulous! I am still working on the finer details such as sponsorships and swag bag goodies but I can guarantee you a bloody great day filled with fun, great food and valuable resources. There will be a photographer on site who will be running a photo booth for you to have memories of the day to download after the event, there will be entertainment during lunch and plenty more to come.

The rough timeline for the day is as follows:

10.30am - Introductions for the day with coffee and pastries

11.00am - First workshops begin (all 4 workshops will take place simultaneously and you will be in 1 of the 2 you have chosen at registration.)

12.30pm - Grazing table style lunch provided by The Grazy Lady and a chance to chat with vendors and other nearlyweds.

1.30pm - Second workshops to begin

3.00pm - Talk with a recently married couple and Q&A with Molly from MW Weddings & Events

4.00pm - Time to take all of your new skills home

Why are you looking for sponsorships when we are paying for tickets?

Simply put, any sponsorship deals will be used to keep ticket prices down. I am fully aware we are in a cost of living crisis and not everyone has a bunch of disposable income floating around each month so in the name of keeping prices as low as I possibly can I am looking for sponsorships to help balance out the costs a little.

Will you be taking the workshops anywhere other than Bristol?

Yes - the aim is to take them everywhere I possibly can to spread the love for small businesses and help as many newly nearlyweds as possible. This obviously depends on the success of the trial in Bristol but I'm incredibly hopeful!

"I truly believe this will be such a worthy investment for your wedding planning experience."

Simply put, my aim is to educate couples who want to learn new skills that will ultimately save them money on their weddings and have a great time doing it! Sound good? Thought so.
